The company was founded by Trump, his sons and Steve Witkoff, among others. Witkoff also serves as the president’s special envoy. Trump is said to have received another 635 million US dollars in licensing fees for so-called meme coins. These include the »$TRUMP« coin, which was launched shortly before he took office.
Politics and Private Business Collide
The earnings are politically sensitive because Trump has actively promoted cryptocurrencies since the beginning of his second term. He had announced plans to turn the United States into a »Bitcoin superpower« and has rolled back numerous regulations.
Critics see this as a major conflict of interest: a president is shaping the rules for an industry from which he and his family personally profit. The US government rejects such accusations and stresses that Trump does not manage his assets himself.
Crypto Overtakes the Real Estate Business
In addition to crypto income, Trump’s disclosure also lists substantial earnings from settlements with media companies, international name-licensing deals and the sale of branded products such as Bibles, sneakers and watches.
Still, one thing stands out: crypto deals have now overtaken a large part of Trump’s traditional real estate business. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, his current net worth is estimated at 7.6 billion US dollars. At the time of his inauguration in January 2025, Forbes had estimated it at 3.9 billion US dollars.
